It’s in November that the dream of building a world-class golf course started to become reality.

That’s when the three co-founders André Raymond, Jean-François Fillion and Serge Dussault officially joined forces. In only a few months, they were able to bring together a group of shareholders and the necessary financing to start building. Today, Golf La Tempête is proud to count on 50 shareholders coming from Quebec, la Beauce and Chaudières-Appalaches as well as on a full membership since 2008.

International golf design firm Huxham Golf Design was brought in to oversee the design of the course. The philosophy behind La Tempête was clear and simple : build a world-class golf course with incredible playability and spectacular design that would be capable of hosting international events.

Club de Golf La Tempête hosts the 17th edition of the Telus World Skins Game in June. Big names like Fred Couples, Sergio Garcia, Ian Poulter, Mike Weir, Geoff Ogilvy and more participate in this memorable happening. Still today, the Skins Game at La Tempête is considered the most successful event in the history of the competition, in large part due to the incredible response of Quebec City’s business community and of the population which transpired in record breaking ticket sales.

Golf La Tempête has a second opportunity to host an international event with the presentation of a PGA Tour Champions official tournament. The best senior players on the planet are thus competing at La Tempête in a event that gives the region an exceptional exposure with a broadcast that reaches more than 150 million homes around the world. The American Wes Short Jr. wins with an eagle on the 18th hole.

Operated like a business, the club will celebrate in 2019 its 15th anniversary with exciting projects on the horizon. Just like its dynamic community of members, Golf La Tempête has an ambitious vision of the future and just announced major investments that will allow the club to continue to innovate and to offer its shareholders, its members and their guests one of the best golf experience in the country.
